Affordable End Of Year Presents - Shower Bombs
I am sure we all appreciate our children’s teachers – the amount my little one has learnt in half a year in grade 1 is amazing. I have 2 children in school and that means 2 end of year thank you presents and I always get the classroom assistant a present too. And as Moms, we are always on the lookout for Affordable End Of Year Presents which are nice gifts for not only teachers but members of the family and/ or secrete Santa’s/friends etc.
This is what I have made in the last year:

- Downloadable printable calendar planner for the following year(inexpensive)
- Shower Bombs with essential oils
What are Shower Bombs?
Yes, Shower Bombs NOT bath bombs but shower bombs. Bath bombs are tricky to make. In Durban. The weather has to be just right, the mixture just right or you have wasted the mixture.
But bath bombs are easier.
With Bath Bombs, you put them into the edge of the shower stream and they fizz away releasing the essential oil fragrance.
Here is the recipe:
- 1 Cup Baking Soda (Baking Powder)
- ½ Cup Citric Acid½ Cup Corn Flour
- Colouring if you want not food colouring preferably soap colouring
- 10-20 drops of Essential oil – of choice
- 2 tatablespoonsater in a spray bottle
- Moulds: You can use traditional round bath bomb moulds or silicone ice trays.
- Mix all ingredients together except for the water.
- Add the essential oil to smell.
- Spray a little of the water at a time on the dry ingredients and mix well.
- Spray water until the mixture holds shape when you hold it with your hands.
- Then place the mixture into the moulds pushing as much mixture as possible in the mould.
- Wait to harden for about 30-1 hour and remove from moulds into container.
- Leave for 24 hours to dry and you have shower bombs.
Place your bath bombs into a large jar with a label tied on with twine and you have lovely Affordable End Of Year Presents for your teacher/family member/ whomever.
